Hey girl... a couple of things before coming to Miami...
First, as most of us can tell you, Miami is not your typical US city, it is more like a latin america extension in the US, which changes a lot of things, such as time, customs, language, orientation and uff.. much more. For this reason, don't expect the same environment as you see in movies or shows.
Second, even though the Taiwanese community is quite limited in numbers, I will consider it a pretty tight knit community, meaning you will meet almost all of them over here.
Third, don't worry about not been able to find stuff over here... except for maybe Taiwanese food... bottom line is, if you have money and you are willing to spend, you can find and buy everything you want and need.
As for classes and professors, you will find that the more they change, the more they stay the same... but do be prepared to face language and accent issues over here.... But well... no matter what problems you will have, I am sure people will glady lend you a hand and see you through your struggles, just don't be embarassed to ask. |

1.台灣學生並不多
所以你會有很多機會練習你的英文
2.邁阿密的天氣很像台灣
一年四季都是夏天
3.至於你要讀的音樂系師資和課程
我無法告知( 我讀商學院 )
不過我知道有許多台灣學生在音樂系讀碩士和博士班
所以我猜想應該是很不錯的學院吧
而且音樂學院現在又在蓋新大樓
可見學校十分重視音樂學院
4.另外邁阿密並不像電影情節那麼恐怖
別把電影中壞的情節都歸類到邁阿密
5.你會喜歡這裡的(大家都會來這裡度假,而你可以在這裡生活,不是很好嗎?)

Hi Chieh-Ju,
About the housing, I think everyone has her/his own preferences.
Thus, you might need to think about some questions first:
1. On campus or off campus?
2. Wanna have a roommate or not?
(If yes, you want to have taiwanese roommate or people from different countries??)
3. You want to live near school (more expensive)
or you would drive so that the distance isn't a big issue?
etc......
Or......you don't have any idea at all??  |

Hi hellosmile,
How's everything going??
I am an MBA student and will graduate in May.
There are usually 1~3 Taiwanese students each semester;
not many Taiwanese students in MBA class.
However, the business school has new MBA program since last year, which is different from mine.
Therefore, I don't know very much about the new MBA program...
Btw, there will be some students going back to Taiwan during the summer break.
If you want, I believe they'll be very glad to meet the new comers and answer any questions you guys have.
That's all... Just feel free to ask questions, if any. |

由於英文不是很好打算今年先進到邁阿密大學對面的kaplan把英文學好,再以條件式入學的方式申請邁阿密大學的Marine and Atmospheric Science.....希望有機會能跟你們大家認識....快要過去邁阿密囉...心裡有種既期待有害怕受傷的感覺...

呵呵.....我住kaplan的學生公寓!!真正的詳細地址我也不是很清楚...要搬進去的當天才能夠知道,有東西想先寄過去也不能先寄,唉!!在那裡我一個人都不認識也沒朋友....說真的超級害怕的!!希望有機會能跟你們大家認識,然後幫幫我忙,我還有一堆不明白的地方ㄋ......拜託囉
